Microsoft have decided to end
Skype, and with it our main phone number. So we've moved to a company that we've used for many years
and have been very reliable. The number we are now using is for
Manchester, which is where they are based, but you will still get through to us!
The new number is 0161 907 2451

After many years of teaching piano to hundreds of pupils, we've decided to end our piano lessons.
Our main piano teacher, and founder of the school, is retiring, and finding a suitable replacement has been extremely challenging!
Current pupils are unaffected, but sadly we won't be taking on any more new pupils.

No more lockdown!
However, we decided to remain an online music school as this has proved to be a successful way to provide lessons, especially as the pupil can remain at home and the family taxi can avoid yet another trip out!
Happily this has worked well for most pupils, enabling them to continue to flourish! It also has the great bonus that if a lesson is missed, it it MUCH easier to arrange a catch up lesson. It really does just need a convenient time and a phone or laptop!

A new addition to the school - Saxophone, Flute and Clarinet
Through lockdown our lessons have continued, and we are delighted that co-founder of the school, Laura McGinity, is joining us to offer online lessons on Saxophone, Flute and Clarinet.
Having continued teaching her existing pupils through lockdown, Laura has gained a great deal of invaluable experience in teaching online.

Coronavirus
is upon us.
However, our lessons have continued online through the lockdown.
The rooms and premises we use are too small to ensure safe social distancing, so for everyone's safety, we are continuing online for the foreseeable future.
Happily almost all of our pupils have continued with lessons, and we look forward to seeing more pupils in the near future.

Sadly we have had to close our Finchley Centre.
After several rent increases above the rate of inflation, we were forced to conclude that continuing with the Centre on longer made economic sense. The landlords - Barnet Borough Scouts - seemingly failed to understand that continuing rental increases in difficult trading circumstances would create an impossible situation for us.
Happily we are able to continue to offer lessons from our Centre in Hendon.

Celia Pedregal is joining us, to offer violin lessons at our Hendon Centre on Fridays
Celia is an experienced group violin teacher, and comes with several years teaching experience. This is an exciting new development for us, and we are very much looking forward to see this new part of the school develop.
Like all our teachers, she is DBS checked

We
had a successful Open Day on the 5th of February with most of
our new classes filling up on the day.
We'll soon be announcing days and times for new classes, to start in September.

Its been a busy term, with several new classes starting. For
established classes, several of them have had exams with pupils waiting anxiously for the results.
We also had a new teacher join us, Romeo. Romeo teaches guitar and has fitted in well at the school.
He is also a Rockschool examiner. This is great news for us, as he knows exactly how best to prepare pupils for their exams.

We
now offer Bass Guitar lessons. We do these as one to one lessons, as
although the Bass Guitar is a great instrument, its not as popular
as regular guitars.
